Review on TRENDnet TC-TP1 Network Signal Testing Probe with Adjustable Volume, Speaker and Compatibility for TC-NT2 by Deron Altman

Good luck with it.

If you buy this, good luck. I've used Tontracer before, but this one seems to have eluded the development lab before it was finalized. My biggest problem are the switches and ports on the sides. None of them are identified as to function/selection. The engineer who designed the mold for the plastic case had to include raised letters indicating the function/position. While it may be language specific, a plastic tag will do. The "User's Guide" (printed in 3-dot typeface) covers the switches and connectors on the page, but no indication of which page or legend. On the back are microscopic images that indicate which side the TEL/TRACE switch is on. This helps, but in practice it doesn't seem to matter if you can't tell what position TRACE is in. I thought it would be a good complement to the TC-NT2 cable tester, but I was disappointed.
