Needs quality control

As mentioned many times in the other reviews its not great quality. Out of the box the head was loose and with a few test taps I was able to pull the head off completely. There was an "epoxy" filling the top portion of the head where the handle wasn't seated properly. I removed the epoxy and cut the handle slightly shorter to accommodate the size of the hole better. After reinstalling the head i also installed a proper wedge and it seems to be on tightly now. The edges do need to be dressed as well but it is a nice size hammer for drawing out thin metal. We'll see how it holds up.

Pros
  • Starting out knife Smith. Great cheap way to fill up you're a hammer bucket
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may not hold up well in extreme temperatures

The head came flying off the first time I tried using it. Should be much more secure if you are calling it an engineers hammer because it takes more force them i gave it to fix many engineers issues.
