Good price good product

Bought 2 of these to upgrade the fiber optic channel but a week after they arrived the power supply died which worked with another fiber optic transceiver on a different channel and I finally have them this one sentence uses this as a substitute. They were a perfect replacement for a fancy set, so I received them just in time. Also, each transceiver acts as a switch as one of the transceivers is connected to a 100baseT port and the other to a Gigabit switch port. I'm assuming the fiber optic link between the transceivers is gigabit speed. One thing I didn't like was that they used 9V power supplies instead of the more standard 12V power supplies. I really wish manufacturers would just standardize on the 12V 2A power supply and not try to shave the last gram of what power supplies they can. PSU outlets are prone to blowouts and have a much higher failure rate than the devices they power, so you have to assume that your power strip will eventually fail. I also like that they have a performance meter in addition to the usual activity meters. On some of these transceivers, the activity LEDs will only illuminate when there is a fiber link, which means that if the fiber breaks, all the LEDs will go off and you will not be able to tell if the transceiver is not receiving power or a link. With these, you can say that.

Pros
  • Network Transceiver
Cons
